2026-2027 Freshmen

Current Freshmen - it is already time to meet with your counselor about your class choices for next year! Please go through all of the following information before Freshmen meetings start the first week of October. It will be very helpful if you already have a plan ready and know the questions you need to ask when you meet with your counselor.

        Academic Plans will be open from October 1-30.

AP vs Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment

Highest GPA weight (6.0)

Weighted the same as Honors (5.0) for GPA.

Must pass AP test to earn college credit

Must pass course to earn college credit

All state colleges must give credit for a passing score on AP tests

All state colleges accept dual enrollment within the common core as transfer courses

Out of state and private colleges may or may not give credit for a passing AP test score

Out of state and private colleges may or may not accept dual enrollment as transfer courses 

Taught by KISD teachers
